Binance, the cryptocurrency exchange, revealed in an announcement on Jan. 15, that they would be restricting access to residents of Japan at an unspecified later date.

While currently there are no restrictions in place, Binance plans on slowly introducing the restrictions over time. Binance was formerly headquartered in Japan after leaving China. The exchange then moved to Malta following an official warning by Japanese regulators due to its lack of a national exchange license.
