Ashley Alder, Chief Executive Officer of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), said that SFC will announce a new licensing system for crypto asset trading platforms in the afternoon (November 3, UTC) to prevent any type of crypto asset platforms from money laundering. He pointed out that after the launch of the licensing system, all crypto platforms operating in Hong Kong or targeting Hong Kong investors must apply for licenses and are subject to regulatory supervision. Ashely Alder further stated that the successful application of a license depends on the platform's financial status, operating experience, risk management, etc. Since the investment risk is taken into account, platforms can only provide services to specialized investors.
