Despite the number cryptocurrency related hacks increasing in 2019, the amount of money taken has dropped significantly. 

According to blockchain analysis company Chainalysis, 2019 saw 11 hacks, which accounted for the most hacks in any other year to date. However, these hacks don’t come close to matching the ones that took place in 2018 in terms of scale, dropping from around $876 million worth of stolen cryptocurrency to about $283 million.
