The Blockchain Association, a collective of advocates involved with the blockchain industry, have filed an amicus curiae brief in response to the legal battle between Telegram and the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The Brief was filed with the court of the Southern District of New York on Jan. 21. The letter from The Blockchain Association disputes the charges, stating that The SEC has provided little clarity about its own interpretation of whether and when digital assets are securities. As such, the decision made by the court could purportedly have widespread consequences throughout the cryptocurrency industry.
