Earlier this month, the Trump administration sent a drone strike that claimed the life of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani (News BTC). 

The Trump administration also enforced economic sanctions on Iran which affected the Iranian economy by 10-20%; because of this, Iran plans to evade sanctions with the help of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. After the attacks, many Iranians rushed to buy Bitcoin through the website LocalBitcoins; Iranians claim using cryptocurrency is the only way currency could be passed out of the country.
