Philippine Finance Minister Carlos Dominguez said that the country is considering a bill for fair taxation of the digital economy. Earlier this month, the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) issued a warning to the public about the unlicensed Bitcoin Digital company, which falsely claimed that it had the support of Carlos Dominguez and local celebrities. The Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission stated that Bitcoin Digital is not registered, has no right to solicit or receive investment from the public, and has no right to issue investment contracts and other forms of securities.
