Stocks plummeted on Monday as more cases of the coronavirus were confirmed over the weekend, causing worries over the virus’ impact on the world economy to grow.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 406 points, or 1.4%. The 30-stock average fell by more than 500 points earlier in the day. The S&P 500 dropped 1.4% while the Nasdaq Composite slid 1.8%.

There are currently 2,862 confirmed cases of the Coronavirus so far in China and the death toll in China has risen to 81.
