Britain announced on Tuesday that it would not be banning equipment made by the Chinese technology giant Huawei from being used on their new high-speed 5G wireless network.

This announcement comes after more than a year of lobbying from the Trump administration, which has claimed that Huawei has ties to China’s Communist Party that pose a national security threat. However, the Trump administration did receive a small victory, as Britain will limit Huawei gear to less-critical parts of the new network.
