Energy currency, unlike gold, can not be controlled, argues Ford (bitcoinist). For every hour of energy exerted, the standard value of energy would equal $1. 

Bitcoin, out of it's 80% of existence, correlates closely to the raw Joules needed to create it. Bitcoin can be determined by kWh, which is Ford's standard. Bitcoin's network currently uses 6.9 million kWh of energy, but remains unique because of its decreasing inflation rate.
