Coinbase's website, API and mobile apps experienced major outages over the past hour on Monday, November 16.
At the time of writing the exchange's website, mobile app and API are back up and running, but payment methods are still experiencing a partial outage. Earlier in the day, the exchange's Paypal EUR withdrawal feature was not operational, but the glitch was quickly resolved.
Members of crypto Twitter quickly took the opportunity to remind the community of more frequent outage issues on Coinbase back in 2017 which prompted many of them to leave the exchange. Others highlighted that outages like these are why centralized exchanges like Coinbase are best for on-ramping new users to crypto rather than being useful for day-to-day crypto holding and trading.
