President Donald Trump has announced that any foreign national who has traveled within China in the last 14 days will not be allowed to enter the United States, according to a report from TheVerge.

Alex Azar, the US Secretary of Health and Human Services, said that the move is an attempt to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. The coronavirus has infected around 10,000 people worldwide in nearly two dozen countries, and it has killed 213 people in China.

All U.S, citizens who have traveled to China will have to undergo a health screening upon entering the country and will be asked to self-quarantine for 14 days. US citizens who have traveled to the Hubei Province, ground zero for the coronavirus, will be held under mandatory quarantine for 14 days after their return. According to the latest available data it can take as long as 14 days for people to develop symptoms of the coronavirus.
