On Feb. 3 Bitcoin SV (BSV) performed a scheduled upgrade called Genesis. A significant portion of nodes have yet to be updated, which caused a minor chain split, where now two versions of BSV exist.

According to a report from BitMEX Research, the upgrade occurred at block height 620,538, or about 8:30 PM EST. The successive block was considered invalid by old rules, signaling the hard fork. This currently does not appear to be a deliberate effort at creating a new chain.

Since the split BSV has dropped 4.5% and at the time of writing sits at $270.59, according to Bitpush Data.
