Kyle Joseph Kistner, co-founder of the decentralized lending platform bZx, tweeted that for CFTC compliance considerations, Coinbase will suspend its margin trading services. This is an incredibly good news for DeFi. The decision puts custodial services in a dilemma.  The CFTC is saying that only DeFi will be allowed to provide margin trading services. This very much mirrors regulatory trends favoring non-custodial over custodial services. This mirrors larger regulatory trends that are promoting the development of non-custodial services.
