A recently launched cryptocurrency exchange says it has been hit with a hack that it will be unable to recover from, according to an announcement on Twitter.

Altsbit, the platform reportedly based in Italy, stated that they had been “hacked during the night and almost all funds from BTC, ETH, ARRR and VRSC were stolen.” However, an update later clarified that “a good part” of their coins were kept on cold storage, which will allow the exchange to offer partial refunds, not having the wherewithal to fully compensate users. The site said users who saw losses must apply for their partial refunds. The refund period will begin on February 10, 2020, and end on May 8, 2020.
