China's central bank filed out 84 patents regarding its plan to launch digital currency electronic payment systems (DCEP). China is taking very serious steps to advance on these plans for a digital currency, but so far, there has not been any official announced dates for the launch, reports CoinVedi.

The U.S. Federal Reserve recently revealed that China's CBDC plans and Facebook's Libra brought CBDCs in the vanguard. Japan is looking to lobby the United States to designate digital currency as a big focus for the next G7 meeting.
