According to an official announcement, Stephanie Avakian, the director of the Enforcement Department of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), will resign at the end of this year. Deputy Director Marc P. Berger will fill Avakian's vacancy as Acting Director. Avakian has led the creation of the SEC's Cyber Unit, which specializes in solving blockchain technology and digital asset's ICO violations. Prior to August, Steven Peikin, co-director of the SEC's Enforcement Department resigned.
