China has turned to blockchain technology to manage medical data, track supply of virus prevention materials and consult the public, during the coronavirus outbreak.

In just the first two weeks of February China has seen the launch of around 20 blockchain-based applications geared toward fighting the coronavirus epidemic. Most of these apps are made to manage citizens’ personal data as many people are returning to work this month, according to a report from People’s Daily Online on Feb. 17.
