Kraken Exchange announced that in 2021 the company is committing to hiring a team to work on the Lightning Network, an upgrade building on Bitcoin's technology to process millions of transactions per second, at a lower cost and greater speed.

The announcement added that the exchange expects to allow clients to withdraw and deposit Bitcoin on Lightning in the first half of 2021, which will allow clients to move their Bitcoin instantly and with the lowest fees. Kraken also hinted that new upgrades and features are in the works.
