The stock market saw a massive drop on Monday, as the Dow Jones Industrial Average traded over 1,000 points lower.

The Dow had its biggest point drop since February 2018 as it slid by 1,025 points or 3.5%. The S&P 500 fell 3.5% for its biggest percentage drop since October 2018. the Nasdaq Composite fell by 3.9%. The 30-stock Dow is also negative for 2020.

This drop comes after an increase in coronavirus cases outside China stoked fears of a prolonged global economic slowdown from the virus spreading. Both the Dow and S&P 500 gave up their gains for 2020.
