The arrival of foreign nationals to the United States from areas dealing with the coronavirus means that a potentially large American outbreak is an “increasingly likely,” scenario that may “rattle” markets, according to investment bank Jefferies.

Simon Powell, the Jefferies equity strategist, wrote on Tuesday that he “finds it hard to believe that USA cases are as low as reported,” and believe that with the current flow of Chinese, Korean and Iranian nationals into North America, a large USA community-based outbreak is increasingly likely.”
