The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced today that it has issued an asset freeze order against the suspected securities fraud of the crypto fund Virgil Capital and its founder Stefan Qin. The SEC has filed a lawsuit against Virgil Capital and its founders in the Southern District of New York on December 22, according to the complaint, since at least 2018, Qin and its entities have defrauded the investors of the Sigma fund by material misrepresentations of the fund's strategy, assets, and financial status.
