Mayor of Miami Frances Suarez stated he was open to exploring putting 1% of the city's treasury reserves in Bitcoin in a recent tweet.

The statement from Suarez was in response to crypto influencer Anthony Pompliano asking followers if they would consider moving to Miami if the city put 1% of its treasury reserves in Bitcoin. 

Another follower responded to the thread suggesting the city accept Bitcoin as a means for citizens to pay for services or bills. Suarez responded that the city will "definitely be working on that in 2021."
