According to an email obtained by The Block, Genesis, the global digital asset platform notified its clients to suspend XRP trading and lending.

Genesis has suspended XRP spot buying on December 29 and will completely suspend XRP trading on January 15, 2021, users who hold XRP must sell before 5 pm (EST) that day. In addition, the company's XRP derivatives trading business is temporarily normal. The email read: "Our team is actively monitoring the evolving regulatory situation with XRP", which means due to the unstable regulation of XRP, these changes may be adjusted in the future.
