Chinese miners make up a majority of Bitcoin mining power capturing between 50-65% of the global hashrate, however a regional report this week notes that Chinese miners seem to be moving to Nordic countries like Norway and Sweden.

The report from 8BTC notes that Bitcoin miners in China used to benefit from a lack of regulations and cheap electrical rates. But recently the Chinese government has introduced stricter measures towards cryptocurrencies and the price of electricity has risen.

Philip Salter, head of operations at Genesis Mining recently confirmed the trend that Chinese miners are moving to the Nordics adding that China’s miner migration is one of the “biggest developments” in the bitcoin industry right now.
