The team behind Optimism, the layer 2 scaling solution of Ethereum revealed in its annual report that it plans to conduct a mainnet soft launch (or preliminary mainnet launch) on January 15. In order to prevent malfunctions and errors, the team will retain the upgrade key for a period of time (at least the first 6 months) to ensure the safety of user funds. The public or community version of the mainnet is expected to be released on March 15. The Optimism solution, which will be tried by Uniswap and Chainlink, aims to solve the Ethereum scaling problem, which is to improve its transaction processing capabilities at a reasonable cost.
