In early December, Bitmain was pre-selling Bitcoin ASIC miners with an expected shipping date of May 2021. Today, Bitmain has sold out through August 2021, as reported by CoinDesk.

The high demand for ASIC miners has allowed Bitmain to raise prices. In November, Bitmain’s Antminer S19 cost $1,897. Now, the same equipment sells for $3,769. The high demand also means that secondary mining markets are thriving and continue to benefit with activity surging to its highest levels since 2017, data analyzed by CoinDesk from Luxor Technologies shows.

The high demand for ASIC miners comes as Bitcoin has gained 300% in 2020, currently trading hands at $31,427. The high Bitcoin price means miners are also pulling in greater revenue.
