Litecoin briefly surpassed Ripple in market capitalization on Sunday when LTC's market cap hit $9.95 billion following a more than 12% surge in price. Meanwhile, XRP had declined 24% over one day.

The flipping was likely due to the hit XRP has taken after the Securities and Exchange Commission charged Ripple with selling unregistered securities. At the time of writing, XRP is back in the fourth position with a market cap of $10.5 billion and is up 4% for the day. Litecoin is in the fifth position with $10 billion in market cap and down 2.15% for the day.
