Block explorer service, crypto exchange and wallet Blockchain.com has partnered with Blockstack PBC to support the launch of Stacks 2.0, according to a recent announcement.

Blockchain.com first partnered with Blockstack PBC last year to offer an airdrop of the Stacks token (SNX). Announcement authors wrote that Stacks 2.0 promises to bring powerful smart contracts and applications to Bitcoin. Stacks 2.0 aims to build dapps to make the $760 billion worth of Bitcoin programmable. So far, smart contracts and applications have been largely based on the Ethereum blockchain.

Stacks 2.0 developers hope to gain Bitcoin's security, capital and network by building on the blockchain.
