In an exclusive interview held by Cambridge House International Inc., former Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, who served as the 22nd Prime Minister of Canada for nearly ten years, stated that Bitcoin and gold can be used as the world's reserve currencies.

He thought the US dollar will remain in its place, said: "We've seen the US dollar trend down in recent months...unless the US becomes a catastrophe, it's hard to see what the alternative is to the USD as the world's major reserve currency.  Other than gold, bitcoin, a whole basket of things..."

Harper also worried about the sovereign status of the central bank for currency, he stated: "If you have a digital currency and the purpose of the central bank is to control inflation and create a stable currency and pricing ability, then the digital currency is just kind of an evolution of the marketplace".
