Digital asset exchange Bitstamp has reportedly banned Netherlands-based users from withdrawing crypto to external wallets without first verifying they own the receiving address.

Dutch Bitstamp users must now submit third-party address and photo evidence to prove they own the wallet before withdrawals will be processed, according to a letter written by Bitamp shared by Bitcoin Marcus on Twitter.

Bitamp's new withdrawal rules are in response to anti-money laundering regulations drafted by Dutch regulators in November 2019 and passed 12 months later.
