In the past 7 days, the number of addresses with at least 1,000 BTC continues to increase despite the volatility of Bitcoin price, data from Glassnode shows.

The number declined in late December and risen again since the beginning of 2021. Besides, data from blockchain analysis platform CryptoQuant shows that the total number of Bitcoin transactions on the network is still high.

However, the ratio of Bitcoin transfers on exchanges to all transfers on the network has not increased, indicating that most transactions are conducted through over-the-counter (OTC) transactions, which is the preferred method for institutional investors.
