Co-founder of Messari research Ryan Watkins advised the crypto community against algorithmic stablecoins in a recent tweet.

He wrote that because these stablecoins have no intrinsic value, are entirely faith based and lack deep liquidity they become markets for big investors to play in while retail investors are left helpless holding the tokens and waiting to see what whale investors will do.

Watkins stated that this creates an odd market to trade in. He added that other DeFi tokens at least have intrinsic value that allows traders to strategize and predict the price in the long run.
