As of press time, a total of 120,300 Bitcoin contracts worth $4 billion in major exchanges (Deribit, CME, Bakkt, OKEx, LedgerX, etc.) set to expire this Friday, data from Skew shows.
Deribit saw the largest option volumes on its platform. According to Laevitas, a Swiss-based data provider, currently, more than 52,600 call option contracts and 29,800 put option contracts are Out-of-the-Money options (OTM), which means that sudden price volatility before expiration will force market makers to hedge the underlying assets, may lead to greater price fluctuations.
