North American Bitcoin infrastructure company Blockstream announced that it has purchased $25 million Bitcoin miners from Shenzhen's MicroBT.

The new equipment, named WhatsMiner, will be deployed in mining facilities in the United States and Canada.

Samson Mow, Chief Strategy Officer of Blockstream, said in the release: "Right now, there’s no better mining hardware on the market than MicroBT’s Whatsminer miners. We’re excited to continue our relationship with MicroBT and this latest batch will provide our hosting clients with an extremely reliable foundation to contribute to the security of the Bitcoin network."
