Jonas Schnelli, a well-known Bitcoin core developer, has obtained a one-year grant from Bitcoin mining company Marathon Patent Group.

Schnelli has been contributing to Bitcoin Core for nearly eight years. His 516 commits make him the ninth most active developer on Bitcoin Core. Schnelli also created a code library for developing Bitcoin applications using the C program and helped design the BitBox hardware wallet. Schnelli had previously received grants from Bitmain but be canceled at the end of 2020.
