Matic Network, Ethereum's layer-two scalability solution, today announced that it will rebrand to Polygon.

The name change marks a strategic shift that making Polygon an L2 aggregator. Polygon will not only support its internal platform, but also other Ethereum scalability solutions, such as Optimistic Rollups, ZkRollups, and StarkWare's Validium.

The strategy will be implemented through the new Polygon SDK, and developers can build their DApps on the infrastructure anchored by Ethereum more efficiently.
