Although Russia's current mining industry is in a gray area, it is said that a large number of miners have been deployed.

Igor Runets, CEO from data center operator BitRiver revealed to local media Kommersant that Russia has imported and deployed 20,000 mining devices, valued at approximately $40 to $60 million, with a total capacity of nearly 70 MW.

It is by far the largest single batch purchase of mining machines in the country. Runets declined to disclose other information about equipment manufacturers or technical specifications, but all miners are from Asia. Runets also speculated that the buyer may have obtained high-level acquiescence.
