Crypto remittance service provider Valiu announced the completion of a seed round of $5.25 million, Blockchange Ventures and Anthony Pompliano's Pomp Investments led the round, with participation from Castle Island, Messari founder Ryan Selkis and existing investors like Y Combinator, Mercy Corps, IDEO Colab.

Valiu mainly provides Bitcoin cross-border payment services to Latin American countries. Its mobile application allows users to buy and send Bitcoin-backed synthetic U.S. dollars to other cross-border users. The recipient can cash the money to a Venezuelan bank account within an hour.

In addition, Valiu can be used as a savings account to protect deposits from hyperinflation.

According to data from the official website, the service has processed 400,000 transactions with a total value of $8.4 million and has more than 52,000 users.
