Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey announced today that he and rapper JAY-Z have donated 500 BTC to build ₿trust, a new endowment fund, initially focusing on community development in Africa and India.

The fund has a mission of making Bitcoin the internet's currency. Dorsey also stated that the donation will be set up as an irrevocable trust, that is, the donor waives its ownership, and the trust cannot be modified, canceled, or terminated without the beneficiary's permission.
