Just one day after the DeFi project Meerkat Finance launched on the Binance Smart Chain, the vault was "hacked" and 13.96 million BUSD and 73,653 BNB were drained, with a total value of more than $31 million, according to a report from The Block.

The weird thing is the project's website shows "This domain is for sale" and its Twitter account has also disappeared, as well as the Telegram group.

According to Coindesk, as the data on the chain shows that the original Meerkat deployer account was used to change the smart contract, it is suspected that it may not be a simple hacking. Unless the private key of the project is leaked, it may be executed by Meerkat itself.
