The New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) announced on Thursday that the crypto company Bakkt has become the 29th company with a BitLicense

The BitLicense, which was first granted to Paxos in 2015, is an authorization for cryptocurrency-related companies to legally operate in New York State. 

Under the regulation of NYDFS, Bakkt now can provide services for buying and selling virtual currencies for its New York customers within the license.
