Five men and one woman were arrested on June 25 over a fake exchange website that managed to steal €24 million in cryptocurrency from thousands of innocent victims. 

The operation responsible for the arrests also involved the UK’s South West Regional Cyber Crime Unit and National Crime Agency in addition to the Dutch police and Eurojust. 

The scam involved a “well-known” (but unnamed) cryptocurrency exchange that was cloned in order to hack into victims’ crypto wallets and steal funds.
