The decentralized exchange Uniswap released an overview and roadmap of the V3 version today. The team plans to launch the L1 Ethereum mainnet on May 5th, and will soon deploy L2 on Optimism.
According to the press posted, the new version introduces the following upgrades:
Centralized liquidity, giving individual LPs granular control over what price ranges their capital is allocated to. Individual positions are aggregated together into a single pool, forming one combined curve for users to trade against, which will ultimately increase the capital efficiency of LPs by up to 4000 times;
Multiple fee tiers, allowing LPs to be appropriately compensated for taking on varying degrees of risk.
The features of V3 will make "Uniswap v3 the most flexible and efficient AMM ever designed".
