Coinbase Global Inc. today announced that it has added Brett Redfearn, former director of the trading and marketing department of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), as its VP of Product, Capital Markets, which covers the company's exchange, brokerage, and custody business.

Redfearn left the SEC in December last year. He is the second senior SEC official this week to be responsible for Bitcoin-centric business. On Monday, former SEC Chairman Jay Clayton joined One River Asset Management as a crypto advisor.
