Tesla CEO Elon Musk, MicroStrategy CEO Michael Saylor today stated that they have talked with North American Bitcoin mining companies, who have promised to release current and planned renewable energy usage and asked global miners to do the same.
Argo, Core Scientific, Blockcap, Galaxy Digital, Hive Blockchain, Hut 8 mining, Riot Blockchain, and other companies attended the meeting. Saylor said the miners have agreed to form a Bitcoin Mining Committee to increase the transparency of energy use and accelerate the global Sustainability plans within the scope. An organization to standardize energy reports will also be built, pursuing industry ESG goals and developing the market.
