Flashbots, an organization that aims to study MEV (miner extractable value) issues, released V0.2 and introduced the bundling and merging function. Ethermine mined the first multi-bundle block. Flashbots product manager Robert Miller said that this means that Flashbots miners can now mine multiple bundles in each block.

Previously, there could only be one bundle per block. Since the launch of Flashbots, more than 100,000 bundles have been included in the chain, which improves the efficiency of MEV extraction and brings profits to searchers and miners. From historical data, each Flashbots block can bring an average profit of about 0.2 ETH, and it is expected that the bundling and merging will greatly increase the profit of each block.
