Starting on August 3, Google will allow advertisers to provide U.S. users with cryptocurrency exchanges and wallet advertisements. However, advertisers must meet the following requirements:

  • Formally registered as a money service business with FinCEN and with at least one state as a money transmitter, or register as a federal or state trust license.

  • Comply with relevant legal requirements, including any local legal requirements, whether at the state or federal level.

  • Ensure that their ads and delivery pages comply with all Google Ads policies.

Google reiterated its prohibition on advertising initial coin offerings (ICOs), DeFi protocols, or otherwise promotes the purchase, sale, or trading of cryptocurrencies or related products.
