El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele announced on Twitter that he has instructed LaGeo, the local state-owned geothermal power company, to develop a plan to mine Bitcoin by volcanic energy. 

The President stated that mining will be extremely low-cost, 100% clean, 100% renewable, and zero-emission energy from volcanoes. 

Earlier today, El Salvador voted to make Bitcoin the country’s legal tender.
