A bill that would suspend cryptocurrency mining for three years in New York died in the House of Commons of the U.S. State Assembly.

According to The Block, the staff of the bill author and Congressman Anna Kelles said that "the obstacle is the union."

The union believes that the bill does not take into account the effective benefits of the technology behind the industry.

But Kelles will not give up. She said: "We will work to pass this legislation in the 2022 session, but need to make sure our climate goals are not compromised by rampant energy usage from currency mining in the short term."
