According to the New York Times, two people familiar with the matter stated that U.S. President Biden has appointed the famous antitrust advocate Lina Khan as the chairman of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), after the Senate passed a vote of 69 to 28. 

Massachusetts Democrat Elizabeth Warren called Khan's leadership of the FTC "big news", which indicates that the agency may further crackdown on the technology giants. 

As an associate professor at Columbia Law School and a former assistant to the Judiciary of the House of Representatives, the 32-year-old Khan will become the youngest chairman and member of the FTC in history. 

Khan became a well-known figure in the antitrust industry after writing the article "Amazon's Antitrust Paradox" for the Yale Law Review in 2017.
